Flashback Friday

Here is a picture of me ( with my stylish five year old bouffant ) with my older sister after my very first sports day at primary school. I was in the gold team hence the yellow tshirts - my sister was the captain so I think I thought she was the best thing ever. I had a blue ribbon because at a very young age I was freakishly fast at running. Ha gone are those days!!
"go little fella run like the wind"

I had been eyeing off this digital pic on canvas for a while so I decided to get it. It is by a local girl. I wish I once looked that cool!!!

Hoping to have a weekend of sunshine and of course the obligatory stuffing my face, especially after the crazy week of trips to the post office trying to organise passports, costumes for book week and a crazy non stop growing puppy who has turned out to be a whippet cross blue heeler instead of a whippet cross jack russell - yes I know I am still laughing and gasping.

Passports? Are you going overseas?

I love the photo, your sister's shorts are the best. As are the expressions on your faces. I don't think I ever came home with a blue ribbon from a sport's day. I was the kid who came 4th and got to go the next level up / regional sport's day as the dud runner in the relay team.

Love your picture. Gotta love the way we used to tuck our shorts in. My kids gasp.

Those shorts couldn't get much shorter, could they? Great t-shirt pics!

Everyone I know seems to have been frantic with book week costumes. Luckily my daughter's school doesn't seem to have a dress-up requirement - or if they did, Queenie failed to tell me about it, and I can only assume she went as a character who wears school uniform!

Whippet/ blue heeler cross? The mind boggles!

Let's hope your hoped-for weekend of sunshine materialises!

Gotta love the shorts. I assume they were 'stubbies' or some equivalent. The next step up from those shorts were the ones with drawstring sides...

Cute shorts - nice and short! I'd kill to be able to wear shorts like that now. Not saying I would, but I'd like to have the option. Is that a bit of a curve around to the side seam on the hem of your sister's shorts I spy??

Did you have your nana nap today or did you spend the day on the internet maybe checking out dating sites. Just looked at Retromum's blog, specifically the link to youtube which showed a couple who were infertile who then fell pregnant and lost the twins at 24 weeks but eventually fell pregnant and gave birth to healthy twins. It showed the parents saying goodbye to their babies. Very very sad

A whippet/blue heeler is probably a better combination anyway.

Though they're all Hell for the first 6 months.

Now all I can think about is school sports day - red, green, gold and blue teams - and marching to that whistled tune - and being crap at running but strangely very good at tunnel ball and zig zag

Love that print, very cool indeed. You know I couldn't walk for two days after netball! So unfit so quickly.

I'm still laughing and snorting as I write that out. I really should have learned by now to never have a cup of hot liquid in my hand when I read one of your posts. You really have a wonderful wit (and recall!)
